Tim Hauber - Grower and General Manager

is Grower and General Manager.  He grew up in an agricultural community in Ontario, Canada and obtained a BSc in Food Science from University of Guelph.  He spent 5 years working in the field of Sensory Science, traveling around the world to help companies collect and analyze taste test data.  He worked for 5 years as director of a non-profit outdoor education facility in Nassau, The Bahamas called The Adventure Learning Centre, then worked as Grower for Goodfellow Farms in Nassau.  He built and ran the New Providence Community Farm and Farmers Market for 3 years.  Joining Lucayan Tropical as Grower in 2005, his role expanded to General Manager in 2007.  He is married to Dr. Selima Campbell-Hauber.  Tim is passionate about promoting local food production in the Bahamas.  He promotes agricultural education and experience as a member of the COB Student Job Placement Committee. Tim’s professional affiliations include memberships in Slow Food International, American Society of Horticultural Science,  Canadian Institute of Food Science and Technology, and Bahamas Agricultural Producers Association.
